Together We Can Prevent All Incidents
--REA Hold the First Global Linde Safety Day
April 18th, 2016 was not only the United Nations World Day for Safety and Health at work, but also the first global Linde Safety Day. Drove by Group SHEQ & REA SHEQ Heads and supported by Corporate Communications & REA Comms, it was a global activity which supports us to achieve zero incidents. On that day, employees at more than 60 sites and offices across continent, Hong Kong and Korea of Linde REA renewed their commitment to safety, and announced the “Health – Safety – Environment (HSE) Strategy 2020”.
On April 18th, after watching safety commitment videos from senior team of Linde REA, employees from different REA sites signed their names on the safety posters, renewing their commitment to safety – for ourselves, our colleagues, our customers and business partners and the whole community. Our goal is alignment of our behaviours and our beliefs as expressed by four safety guiding principles. All of Linde employees are making efforts to insist safe production and avoid any accident under these four safety guiding principles. Linde also launched new safety initiatives to support Linde’s vision and 2020 goals.
During the following safety conference, employees had a group discussion about the most important safety issues and the methods to avoid them, emphasising that improving safety situation requires team effort. They also have shared successful safety experience with each other and drawn up a recognition framework for the safety achievements made by individuals or team. After the conference, a safety knowledge quiz was held, which has deepened employees’ understanding towards the importance of safety and aroused their enthusiasm to learn safety knowledge.
REA management team members, including Head of REA Steven Fang, Head of OPS Robert Zhu, Head of HSE&Q David Anderson, Head of HR Gary Chai, Head of Sales & Marketing Theo Martin, Head of Healthcare Chwee Foon Lim and Head of Finance Wong Ken, have showed up and led the Safety Day activity at different sites, which demonstrate their visible leadership. To root the concept that safety is relate to not only ourselves but also our families, Ningbo site combined the Safety Day with Family Day.
Safety truly comes first in Linde; it is an integral part of our business. Linde always pay great attention to safety and promote “zero accident” goal with strong resolve and determined actions. Linde Safety Day of 2016 was end, but all Linde employees, including senior leaders, line managers and our contractors, should keep safety commitment in mind, continue to comply with four safety guiding principles and execute safe behaviours in their areas of responsibility. By pulling together, we can prevent all incidents t achieve more success for Linde on the safe basis.
